Triple ton: KP scored 355 not out for Surrey in 2015

Records are broken all the time, even those that seemed likely to last forever, but most of the County Championship seasonal records and records derived from there will last because, simply, people played much more first-class cricket in the days before the one-day game. Single innings records are different, and Kevin Pietersen’s 355 not out against Leicestershire two years ago was the sixth-highest score ever made in the competition.
