Surprise to himself: Yorkshire’s Jordan Thompson didn’t expect to play
ONCE, at long last, the season eventually started, it’s fair to say that no-one genuinely expected Jordan Thompson, the 23-year old Yorkshire all-rounder, to feature prominently in the Bob Willis Trophy. Indeed, Thompson himself didn’t think he’d play in the opening game at Durham and appeared only because of a late injury to fellow all-rounder Matthew Waite, whose place he took.
