Youngster has the Phoenix burning bright

ROOKIE Chris Benjamin revelled in front of a raucous 12,137 crowd at Edgbaston as he smashed Birmingham Phoenix to a thrilling victory over London Spirit.
The 22-year-old Warwickshire batsman was only drafted into the Phoenix side on the eve of the tournament but clobbered 24 from 15 balls to secure a three-wicket win.
Spirit had finished on 144 for six from their 100 balls thanks to Zak Crawley’s 64 from 40 balls as Adam Milne led the Phoenix bowling attack with an excellent 2-18 from 20 balls.
