SUSSEX seamer Mitch Claydon has conceded that Old Father Time has finally caught up with him after announcing his retirement from firstclass cricket this week at the age of 38.
Australian-born Claydon, who also turned out for Kent, Yorkshire and Durham, will bring down the curtain on a glittering career at the end of the season.
“After 17 years as a professional cricketer, I’ve decided that 2021 will be my last,” said Claydon, who took 310 first-class wickets at an average of 31.90, scoring 1,688 runs.
