DEBUTANT Mark Stoneman kicked off his Vitality Blast loan to Yorkshire with a 50 as the Vikings posted a mammoth 224-3 against Northamptonshire Steelbacks.
The 34-year-old hit the ground running at Headingley with 50 off 31 balls but still had to play second fiddle to No.3 Jordan Thompson who clubbed seven sixes in a blistering innings of 74 in just 35 balls.
Former England opener Stoneman’s temporary move from Surrey to play in five t20 games was only confirmed on Saturday after Dawid Malan’s call-up to the England ODI side.
