SINCE England have failed to beat Australia in a Test match in Perth in eleven attempts dating back to their last victory there in 1978 not many of the players who have tried and failed to do so in the intervening 43 years will share the sentiment.
But the absence of the WACA from the schedule for the 2021-22 Ashes should be mourned.
On aesthetic grounds the WACA may have been the kind of stadium you either hated or disliked, but its ugliness was part of its charm, as was the atmosphere that could be generated there which, while not close to that for ich the passing of the Ant...
