After the first round of games in the IPL season, the Impact Player hasn’t made much of the impact hoped for by teams. Just one of the nine reams that used the Impact Player saw positive results. 

Gujarat Titans player Kane Williamson was injured in the team’s season opener. The Titans substituted Williamson with pure batter B Sai Sudharsan. It was a like-for-like change to the starting XI. Sudharsan entered the match with the team chasing 179 runs against the Super Kings. The move turned out to be a wise one, as the Titans came back to win the match.
