5 Myths about Slots

Most people in casinos love bonuses, like the 100 deposit bonus casino, as well as slots. Slot machines are filled with people talking, creating rumors, and judging their authenticity – especially when it comes to online slots. Players who do know their ways around these games, sometimes even think that they can beat them with certain tricks.

They say that it depends on the right timing, the ratios between the amount and paylines, and other in-game features or superstitions.

Here’s what we found out about slots. These are 5 famous myths, which we’ve found on the internet and while we were doing our research (at least so far):

Myth #1: Slot Machines Pay Better at Certain Times of the Day

Everyone within the industry has heard sooner or later that at certain times, games pay out more than usual. Some gamblers have that inner feeling that at certain hours – be it early in the morning or at midnight – they tend to win bigger amounts.

Obviously, this doesn’t make any sense. If it were true, gamblers would only play at those hours, ignoring completely the rest of the day.

Myth #2: More Paylines Increase the Chances of Winning

For beginners, this one’s pretty straightforward. The more paylines a machine has, the more they will win. Well, we can’t say that this one’s completely a myth, since increasing the paylines can also increase the winning chances.

Let’s say you’ve got for example five paylines. That would mean that if you bet $0.05 per line, then you’d receive a total amount of $0.25. If you’re playing with ten lines, then those winnings double to $0.50.

So, more paylines can bring in bigger wins, but they don’t necessarily increase the winning chances. Some games have less paylines, and pay tremendously well.

Myth #3: A Long Streak of Bad Luck is Always Followed by a Winning Streak

This myth is perhaps the most famous one. The reasoning behind it is that unlucky players are bound to win, right? Well, not necessarily.

The thing is that serious slots have something called a RNG (Random Number Generator). Therefore, it doesn’t matter what rounds were played before. Each round gets recalculated to create a new and random round.

Myth #4: The Slot Can Be “Tricked” with the Right Software

There have been certain times where dubious sites promise to hack the casino software to make players win. Those sites are the ones that players should avoid at all costs, because those promises are nothing but empty.

What makes these sites so dangerous is that they come from illegal providers. After all, there’s no software or program that can “trick” a slot machine to spit out all types of wins.

Myth #5: Winnings are Lower in “Jackpot Games”

The last myth on this list is an important one for beginners. Most people out there tend to say that winnings are much lower in jackpot games.

As it turns out, that’s also a big lie. Jackpot games or progressive slots do have a smaller RTP (Return to Player), but that’s because they are packed with heavy jackpots.

This means that their volatility is higher and that it may take longer to get those hefty wins, but once they roll in, then they are much higher than any other game. Therefore, playing jackpot games isn’t exactly a low win situation – it’s rather quite the opposite.
