In 1992, when Zimbabwe were admitted to Test match ranks, there was a quip from an Australian administrator that would go on to set a trend. Sure, they supported the expansionary move but “in a non-playing sense”. Yet when it comes to the treatment of Bangladesh, who joined the fold eight years later, it is a joke that has turned into a sorry and shameful reality.
