WEST Indies have Fidel Edwards to thank for the concept of a short-ball barrage that has taken the Cricket World Cup by storm.
The two-time winners bounced Pakistan into submission in the tournament’s second game and Andre Russell, Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell went on to torment Australia too.
And it is Edwards, who has plied his trade on English shores with Hampshire for the last five seasons, that suggested the tactic to coach Floyd Reifer and several squad members before the showpiece.
