Woakes and Broad back ECB plans to reduce costs

CHRIS Woakes says England’s centrally- contracted players are willing to take a pay cut to help the sport face off the economic threat of coronavirus.
The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) lost £100 million this summer despite playing the entire men’s international programme.
That amount could double if next summer is also affected by the virus and with the ECB also having to make 62 redundancies, Woakes knows the country’s leading players have to play their part to help out.
