VIDEO: “We Are England” – Alastair Cook, James Anderson & Co on what it means to play for England

Every England cricket fan has dreamt about representing their country on the cricket field.

Catching a flier at fine leg; cover driving the winning runs; bowling the opposition’s star batsman with an absolute jaffa. Whatever the moment, pulling on a sweater with the three lions embroidered on the chest and playing for England is the ambition of millions of men and women.

Unfortunately, for most of us, playing for England is nothing more than a dream. But for those talented enough to wear an England cap in the international arena, what does it really mean?

With the Ashes less than 48 hours away, England Test match sponsors Investec asked England players past and present to describe what it means to represent their country on the cricket field.

“We Are England” stars Alastair Cook, James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Jos Buttler and John Edrich, and you can watch it below.
